PAC Days

Our Political Action Committee (PAC) Days conference is the culmination of our government relations efforts.

A Force on Parliament Hill

Since 1985, CREA’s annual PAC Days conference in Ottawa has brought REALTORS® from across Canada to our nation’s capital to meet with their local Members of Parliament (MPs) and advocate for policies that encourage access to housing for all Canadians, from emergency shelter to subsidized housing to social housing and homeownership.

Highlights from PAC Day 2024

From October 20-22, 2024, more than 400 PAC Reps from across Canada came together in Ottawa to meet with more than 120 MPs, and advocate for three solutions to address Canada’s housing crisis, including: stimulating supply and embracing innovation through offsite construction technologies, establishing a national housing secretariat, and HST/GST relief for non-profit-built affordable ownership housing.

Exciting Speakers and Panels

PAC Reps had the chance to hear from two former Premiers, Jason Kenney and Kathleen Wynne who gave their take on the state of the federation. As well as conference favourites including the PAC Days media panel featuring Chantal Hébert, Susan Delacourt and Rob Russo, and MP panel with Conservative MP, Karen Vecchio, NDP MP, Bonita Zarrillo, and Liberal MP, Pam Damoff and Bloc Québécois MP, Andréanne Larouche.

Keeping the Momentum

For years, the REALTOR® association community have been advocating for policies that encourage access to housing for all Canadians. From emergency shelter and community housing, to rental accommodations and homeownership, REALTORS® continue to advocate for innovative solutions to increase housing supply across the housing continuum, address current housing challenges, and allow everyone to have safe, stable, and affordable housing options. PAC Days 2024 provided another opportunity for PAC Reps to highlight our REALTOR® Recommendations that, when combined with thoughtful and integrated planning, have great potential to address the national housing crisis.

Keynote Presenters

The Honourable Sean Fraser, Minister of Housing, Infrastructure, and Communities, spoke directly to PAC Representatives about Canada’s housing crisis. Rick Wilson, Co-founder of The Lincoln Project, offered insights on the U.S. Presidential Election and its potential impact in Canada. For some comedic relief, Canadian actor and comedian Shaun Majumder shared stories from his unique journey in real estate.
